Haircuts!

Our good friend Lauren is a very talented hair…dresser?  cutter?  stylist?  I don’t know which word to use as I don’t want to offend her!  Anyway, you get the idea.  She’s good at cutting hair, ok?!  And, one night she cut everyone’s hair except mine.  The girls had a good time.  Here are a few before pics…

…and a few after.

Thanks Lauren!

Louisville

On a recent trip (ok, not so recent…it was over a month ago) to Louisville, we got to see our friends Mark & Katie bring home their new adopted son Judson, met old friends from Birmingham (Colby & Christi Willen), and before all that, get stopped in a small Indiana town by their community parade (I have a pic here to prove it!).

Halloween 2008

So I figured since Thanksgiving is now over and Christmas is right around the corner, I’d go ahead and post…Halloween pics!  Oh boy, am I behind!  Well, the girls had a great time dressing up this year.  They went to the Library for a party and Rhiannon and Aislinn were princesses while Lauchlinn was a police man.  Then, we went trick-or-treating with the Woodfalls and Lauchlinn changed to a white cat while the other two kept their princess outfits.  Check out Lauren Boswell and the ‘old’ Woodfalls!

I absolutely love these pics.  The girls were in such good moods the night I took them!

Speaking of hair…Here’s Aislinn with braids which have been pulled out.  We actually liked the look!

Pumpkin & Face Painting

These pics were from a trip to the library…the girls (and Woodfall boys!) got their faces painted and also painted pumpkins.

Apple Butter

Keeping with all things apple…Here is my photo-chronicled apple butter making day.  This took WAY too long (about 9 hours in all!), but MAN, is it worth it!  Hands down, this is the best apple butter ever.  If my mamma were around here, I’d have to slap her, it’s that good.  Which wouldn’t be too nice, since it’s her recipe (Thanks Mom!).

Anyway, I started with a huge pot full of four different kinds of apples

Lauchlinn then poured some water in to help the apples cook

After they cooked down, I pushed the apples through a strainer, removing their peels (this was the longest part.  GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY!).  This left me with a bunch of apple pulp to which I added the secret ingredients.  Don’t think you’re gonna get my recipe.  If I gave it to you, I’d have to kill you.  Anyway, it made a ton of the good stuff as you can see (the large canning pot now has boiling water in it).

After this, I had to sterilize the jars, lids & rings.  FUN!

The equipment…

And now the butta in the jars, ready to be submerged in the boiling water.  Oh and I burned my fingers more times than I can remember!

And now the finished product!  Yeah!!  Every single one of the jars sealed, too.  That’s what I call success!

Apple Festival

So we finally got to go to the Reids Orchard Apple Fest!  We had a good day riding rides, exploring a fire truck and staying far far away from carnival food!

Pumpkins!

Pics from our pumpkin decorating day, using Potato Head pieces!

The End of Birthday Pics

Ok, so the twins turned four like what a month ago?  I know, it’s embarassing that I’m just now posting the last of their pics, but oh well!  We had a good Saturday with grandpa & grandma and also aunt Linda & uncle Curt.  We went out to Reids Orchard and picked apples; after that we opened presents, gave the girls their new ‘big girl’ bikes and let them enjoy the day.  Happy Birthday girls!

Birthday Pictures, Round #2

So on the the Twins’ actual birth DAY, we had a pumpkin painting party with a bunch of their friends from church.  I think everyone had a blast.  We enjoyed decorating all the goodies the night before (thanks Todd & Lauren!)…as you can see we didn’t have a very healthy party, but oh well!  I think we sent some kids home pretty hyper :)   Thanks to all the kids who came and gave our girls a great night!
